Martin Pfeffer is Interim Manager of the Year
The Umbrella Organisation Austrian Interim Management DÖIM honours Dr. Martin Pfeffer as “Interim Manager of the Year”. This is the third time that Management Factory has received this special industry award.
Martin Pfeffer received the award, which was initiated by DÖIM in Austria, on 28 February 2025 at the Conference for Interim Management (KIM) in Salzburg. This is the third time in the history of this industry award that Management Factory has been honoured: in 2017, Thomas Tschol, Managing Director of Management Factory, was named ‘Interim Manager of the Year’ for his outstanding performance as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Mayr-Melnhof Holz Holding AG. And in 2021, Management Factory partner Christian Kniescheck, MBA, received the ‘Interim Management Project of the Year’ award for restructuring the compressor manufacturer Secop.
Outstanding achievement in the restructuring of Binder+Co
Martin Pfeffer received this year’s award for outstanding achievements in the reorganisation of Binder+Co AG. The company, based in Gleisdorf in Styria, is the global market leader in the fields of screening technology and glass recycling. At the end of 2017, a precarious economic situation arose due to cost overruns on several major projects and losses at subsidiaries. In this situation, Martin Pfeffer took over the management of the company in 2018, first as CFO and later as CEO, together with Jörg Rosegger as Chief Sales Officer (CSO). All companies are now posting good results, the group’s EBIT has risen significantly and the workforce has grown to its highest level in 15 years. The switch to fossil-free energy sources has been largely completed and the sites have been brought up to the latest state of the art with major investments. At the same time, dividends were paid out, and strategic realignment and innovations have secured the company’s long-term success.

Martin Pfeffer has been with Management Factory for more than twenty years. His core competences as an Executive Interim Manager include financial management and restructuring. He has held management positions at Fischer Sports, EMCO, ROCO Modelleisenbahn and Voglauer, among others. He has been CEO and CFO at Binder+Co as Executive Interim Manager since 2018. He became a partner at Management Factory in 2021.
Christian Florschütz, an expert in customer service and ESG, was also honoured by DÖIM at the same time as Martin Pfeffer.
