Client
Simplon is an Austrian premium bike manufacturer with a turnover of around EUR 60 and a company history of almost one hundred years. The product range includes both e-bikes and regular bicycles in the high-end range and is mainly sold in the DACH region.
Project
In the period from August 2022 to July 2023, Management Factory supported Simplon in coping with an impending liquidity crisis and the restructuring of the organization.
The reason for the company’s distressed situation were COVID-related industry-wide disruptions to supply chains with negative effects on material availability and, subsequently, sales and working capital. In close coordination with the owners, Management Factory supported the capital increase and the implementation of short-term working capital measures. For that purpose Management Factory has been appointed as chief-restructuring-officer and the operational management of the sales and IT departments. Organizational reorganization measures were successfully implemented and critical management positions (e.g. marketing, IT and HR) were filled.
Highlights:
- Interim assumption of general management (CRO); Sales management and IT management incl. reorganization of the respective departments
- Company-wide organizational development including the hiring of a new head-of marketing, IT and human resources.
- Support in the selection of and handover to the new management
- Financing secured by banks and owners
- Preparation of budgets, liquidity planning and implementation of necessary short-term liquidity measures
- Conceptualization and implementation of sales initiatives and business development
- Conceptualization and implementation of end-to-end supply and demand planning tools and processes
