The company develops, produces, and distributes motorcycles as well as components and accessories for both the off-road and street segments. With brands such as KTM, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.husqvarna-motorcycles.com\/en-int.html\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.husqvarna-motorcycles.com\/en-int.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Husqvarna<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gasgas.com\/en-int.html\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.gasgas.com\/en-int.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">GASGAS<\/a>, the group has a global presence and holds a worldwide market share of over 50% in the off-road segment. With revenues exceeding \u20ac2.6\u202fbillion in 2024 and around 6,000 employees, KTM is one of Europe\u2019s leading motorcycle manufacturers. The brand is represented in over 100 countries through a global sales and service network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In December 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/ktmgroup.com\/en\/home\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/ktmgroup.com\/en\/home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">KTM AG<\/a> and two of its largest subsidiaries were required to file for reorganization proceedings, during which Mag. Peter Vogl from the law firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.puttinger-vogl.at\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.puttinger-vogl.at\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Puttinger Vogl in Ried<\/a> was appointed insolvency administrator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-project\">The Project<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>During the Covid\u201119 pandemic, KTM recorded strong sales growth, which led to long\u2011term increases in production capacity. As the economy subsequently weakened, production continued at full scale despite declining end\u2011customer demand, resulting in a significant inventory build\u2011up at the dealer level. Consequently, strong wholesale sell-in was met with weak retail sales (end\u2011customer demand). The financial situation was further strained by two strategically challenging projects: the acquisition of high\u2011end motorcycle brand MV Agusta and the company\u2019s entry into the bicycle sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These developments led to an increase in net financial debt from \u20ac250\u202fmillion to \u20ac1.6\u202fbillion within two years. As a result, the group entered a liquidity crisis with a fresh\u2011money requirement of \u20ac650\u202fmillion, which could not be secured through out\u2011of\u2011court measures. At the end of November 2024, reorganization proceedings with self-administration were initiated. These were successfully concluded by the end of May 2025. The 30% creditor settlement offered under the reorganization plan was made possible through an indirect shareholder contribution in the form of a new investor. The refinancing was based on comprehensive, planned restructuring measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Our interdisciplinary team was responsible for the following areas during the restructuring:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Assessment of the appropriateness of the reorganization plan quota<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Validation of the going\u2011concern financial plan<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analysis of the causes of losses<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investigation of economic circumstances related to potential liability and clawback claims<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Support in strategic divestments (including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mvagusta.com\/at\/de\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/www.mvagusta.com\/at\/de\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MV Agusta<\/a> and X\u2011Bow)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assistance with bank negotiations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-custom-white-background-color has-background has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span style=\"color: #e74011;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Highlights:<\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-tw-checkmark\">\n<li>Advisory support to KTM and the insolvency administrator on all economic aspects of the restructuring<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complex corporate structure and cascading liquidation\/value\u2011breakdown analysis of more than fifty entities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multi\u2011stakeholder management: banks, shareholders, creditor representatives, insolvency administrator<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>High public visibility<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Successful completion of reorganization proceedings and continuation of business operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Client KTM is an internationally active motorcycle manufacturer specializing in sporty and off\u2011road capable vehicles.
