The Management Factory acted in an interim capacity and made a significant contribution to achieving the project goals.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-kapsch-1\">Kapsch 1: <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-client\"><strong>The Client:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Kapsch Public TransportCom specializes in the development, installation and maintenance of ticketing systems for public transport. Headquartered in Belgium, the company has 160 employees and generates around EUR 20 million in sales per year and is represented in Europe, Africa and the USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>The Project:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Due to challenging large projects in Belgium and the USA, the company has slid into an earnings and liquidity crisis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The goal is to work out different restructuring options and to implement one of the options after the owners have made a decision. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Management Factory was mandated to work out restructuring options and to manage Kapsch Public TransportCom. After a two-year restructuring phase, an M&amp;A process was initiated and the company was sold to a strategic investor.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-custom-white-background-color has-background has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color: #e74011;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Highlights:<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-tw-checkmark\">\n<li>Stabilization of difficult customer projects <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Initiation and successful completion of a distressed M&amp;A transaction <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-kapsch-2\">Kapsch 2: <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-client-0\"><strong>The Client: <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Kapsch CarrierCom AG (now part of the Kontron Group) is a globally active system integrator and innovator, offering solutions for fixed, mobile, transport, and access networks. The company covers all areas: from analysis and consulting, design and product development, integration, installation, to training, maintenance, and operation of complete networks. In the development of future technologies for renowned providers, Kapsch CarrierCom is among the global leaders and is the clear market leader in digital train radio with GSM-R telecommunications solutions. Its customers include numerous major railway operators in significant markets such as France and Germany, which has the world&#8217;s largest GSM-R network.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-project-rent-a-cfo\"><strong>The Project (Rent-a-CFO): <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Due to negative market developments and internal structural deficits, KCC was forced to reorganize at the beginning of 2007. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Management Factory acted as a consultant for KCC from January to March 2007. From April 2007 to January 2008, Management Factory provided the CFO for KCC. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The task of Management Factory was to implement the reorganization and optimize business processes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-custom-white-background-color has-background has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color: #e74011;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Highlights:<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-tw-checkmark\">\n<li>Support in the strategic and organizational realignment, business, and multi-year planning of the sub-areas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Spin-off of a business unit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-kapsch-3\">Kapsch 3: <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-project-rent-a-controller\"><strong>The Project (Rent-a-Controller): <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The realignment of Kapsch CarrierCom placed additional demands on the controlling department, which, exacerbated by the unexpected departure of long-term employees, could no longer be met with the company&#8217;s own resources.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Management Factory supported KCC in this situation by deploying experienced staff. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For the newly founded subsidiary, Management Factory took over all controlling agendas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-custom-white-background-color has-background has-global-padding is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><span style=\"color: #e74011;\" class=\"stk-highlight\">Highlights:<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-tw-checkmark\">\n<li>Support in market and cost center planning (budget, forecast, multi-year planning)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduction of a planning and reporting system for corporate management<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-kapsch-4\">Kapsch 4: <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-client-1\"><strong>The Client: <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>With the development of intelligent traffic systems, Kapsch TrafficCom creates contemporary solutions for sustainable mobility. Efficient transportation of traffic participants is as important to the company as environmental protection. The company has been listed on the Prime Market of the Vienna Stock Exchange since 2007 and generates worldwide revenues of around EUR 500 million with over 4,500 employees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-project\"><strong>The Project: <\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Due to the loss of some major projects and service contracts, as well as problems in the implementation of individual major projects, Kapsch TrafficCom had to set up a comprehensive restructuring program. The goal was to create the conditions for sustainable profitability in the future.
